Darissa Hernández Egúrbida

Darissa Hernández Egúrbida is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant licensed and practicing in Puerto Rico for the past ten years, initially as a Tax Consultant for an international accounting firm and subsequently as an associate and junior partner of corporate law firms based in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Her practice is concentrated in corporate law, legal and organizational structures for new businesses, business reorganizations, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracts and transactions, economic and tax incentives pursuant to the local economic development laws as well as representing clients on administrative proceedings such as rulings and other tax matters before the Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury and the United States Internal Revenue Service.

Mrs. Hernández obtained a B.A. degree in Business Administration, summa cum laude, and first rank of her class, with a major in accounting from the University of Puerto Rico in 2007, and a Juris Doctor Degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law in 2010.

Mrs. Hernández has served on various occasions as a lecturer for the annual “Attorney-CPAs” conference organized by the Association of Certified Public Accountants of Puerto Rico (Colegio de Contadores Publicos Autorizados), on topics such as: trademarks, trade secrets, contracts law, corporate structures, corporate governance, and other corporate affairs. In addition, she serves as an instructor for the Entrepreneurship Development Programs offered by Centro para Puerto Rico which is part of Fundación Sila M. Calderón, a non-profit organization founded by former governor Hon. Sila M. Calderón. Program topics include organizational structures, entity formation, legal aspects of doing business, tax affairs and incentives, as well as licenses and permits required to do business in Puerto Rico.

At the present, Darissa Hernández is the founding member of Impetus Group, a business and legal services firm based in San Juan looking to change the way legal counseling is provided in Puerto Rico by delivering cost-effective (lean), proactive and sharp results to all clients.
